Honorary doctorate awarded by the Technical University of Bucharest
On October 31, 2019, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Volker Schwieger was awarded an honorary doctorate (Doctor honoris causa, Dr. h.c.) in a ceremony at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest. The conferment was made by the Rector Radu Sorin Vacareanu and the President of the Senate Iohan Neuner. Prof. Schwieger received the honorary doctorate in special recognition of his outstanding commitment to the development and promotion of engineering geodesy. This includes teaching as well as research. This award is also a tribute to his important role at the international level and an honor for his significant contribution to the development and consolidation of the cooperation and friendship with the Bucharest Technical University of Civil Engineering over the last 25 years.
