LGBTQ+ rainbow flag flying at half-mast

UCL's LGBTQ+ rainbow flag has been flying at half-mast above the UCL portico as a gesture of condolence and solidarity with those affected by mass shooting in Pulse, the LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando. Professor Michael Arthur, UCL President & Provost, said: "We are deeply shocked by the massacre in Orlando. On behalf of UCL, I would like to extend our condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured. "UCL is a truly global university, with staff and students from hundreds of countries across the world. Our thoughts are with all LGBTQ+ people who have endured violence and persecution. "All of us, irrespective of our faith or sexuality, must re-double our efforts to promote understanding between communities and tolerance over hate." - Resources. UCL staff and students who would like to access support can get in touch with members of the LGBTQ+ Equality Advisory Group (LEAG) by emailing Out [a] UCL.ac (p) uk - Image.
