UQ appoints Professor C. Paul Bonnington Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure)
UQ appoints Professor C. Paul Bonnington Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure) - The University of Queensland has appointed Professor Paul Bonnington as Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research Infrastructure). Professor Bonnington joins UQ from Monash University where he has been the Director of eResearch since 2008. As PVCRI, he will be responsible for the strategic leadership of UQ's research infrastructure Professor Bonnington will bring decades of experience within research infrastructure, including establishing New Zealand's first eResearch program at the University of Auckland, and numerous state and national research infrastructure initiatives while at Monash, providing researchers with access to major computing, software, and analytics capability. He has also served on numerous state and national boards in the research and research infrastructure areas, including the current Australian Earth-System Simulator National Research Infrastructure (ACCESS-NRI) Board. Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research Infrastructure) Associate Professor Kevin J ack will continue in the position until Paul joins UQ on 4 October.
