Medical school top UK institution in Young University Rankings
Medical school top UK institution in Young University Rankings. Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) was ranked 47th in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings, making it the top placed UK institution in the rankings. The medical school is a partnership between the Universities of Brighton and Sussex and local NHS trusts. The Young University Rankings are part of a suite of THE tables focused on universities that, unlike many of the world's top-ranked universities, do not have centuries of history or tradition. They are based on the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings, but the weightings have been adjusted to give less weight to reputation. In the Millennials list BSMS was ranked 11th, and received the top citation impact, which is a measure of a university's research influence. The Millennials list is a subset of the main list that includes all institutions founded since the year 2000, and features 36 universities from 23 countries.
