New Director of Alumni Relations appointed

University 08 Mar 11 Christine Fairchild, until recently Executive Director of External Relations at Harvard Business School, has been appointed as Oxford's new Director of Alumni Relations. She took up her post this month succeeding Lady Kenny, who retired in September 2010. Ms Fairchild has more than 20 years of experience of working in alumni relations at the Harvard Business School (HBS). In the last seven years she led a staff of 80, overseeing the School's alumni outreach and fundraising activities. She facilitated the close of the School's first capital campaign that exceeded its target of $500 million and oversaw efforts that raised over $50 million annually in new gifts and pledges. In addition, Ms Fairchild supervised alumni communications, reunions and a range of special events for HBS alumni. Ms Fairchild was educated at Connecticut College in the US where she graduated with a BA in Asian Studies.
