New funding available for public engagement projects
Dr Hilary Jackson from the UCL Public Engagement Unit explained: ?This funding is a great way to connect people outside UCL to our research or teaching. It's designed to give UCL staff and research students an opportunity to test out a new idea, with support and advice from UCL Public Engagement and to help extend their networks within and beyond UCL. We hope staff and research students will contact us with ideas and we're happy to help shape applications in the run-up to the deadline. UCL Public Engagement Unit works to support activities which encourage a culture of two-way conversations between UCL staff and groups outside the University. The unit is one of six in the UK to be funded by the Beacons for Public Engagement programme, which was set up by Higher Education Funding Council for England, Research Councils UK and the Wellcome Trust.
