Image: Monique Kooijmans - Use of Depot Space project assesses 2600 newspaper titles During the pilot phase it has been decided that 185 newspaper titles need no longer be kept, and that freed up approximately 100 metres of shelf space. The deselection of newspapers is expected to free up 1.5 km of space. The 2600 newspaper titles still remaining are currently being assessed by the relevant information specialists. The reduction applies to material that is available at other academic libraries in the Netherlands already. The basic premise is that the UvA collection is part of Collectie Nederland, the (academic) Collection of the Netherlands. Thus far, 185 newspaper titles have been removed from the UvA collections.
