Official launch of research cooperation with Brazil

29. Bern - SBF Bern, 09/29/2009"SER)" The Brazilian Minister of Science and Technology, Sergio Machado Rezende, yesterday began a two-day visit to Switzerland. Today he will sign a scientific and technical cooperation agreement with Federal Councillor Pascal Couchepin. Brazil features among Switzerland"s priority countries for the development of bilateral research cooperation. The Brazilian Science Minister is visiting Switzerland with a high-ranking scientific delegation. Federal Councillor Pascal Couchepin and Minister Rezende will sign an agreement for the promotion of exchange of researchers and the completion of joint research projects. An action plan will be signed defining the areas of cooperation (neuroscience, health, energy and environment), the instruments (joint research projects, exchanges and mobility of researchers, and post-doctoral scholarships) and joint financing methods.
