OPAC researchers visit CTL for skills school

A group of international early-stage researchers attended a week-long researcher skills school at the University's graduate training suite at the Central Teaching Labs. Organised by Professor Carsten Welsch and the EU Project T.E.A.M. based at the Cockcroft Institute, the oPAC Complementary Skills School provided the researchers with specific training which can be applied immediately to research projects including presentation skills, project management, scientific writing and team working to develop an outreach project as well as more 'generic' skills. Gaining a complementary set of skills is considered highly important for postgraduate researchers across Europe before they enter the global job market. This course aimed to provide the trainees with the necessary skills base for their future career in both, the academic and industry sectors. The school followed the successful format pioneered in the DITANET project.
