Plymouth leaps 9 places in national university rankings
The University enjoys one of the ‘top ten’ most significant rises nationally and is the only South West University to experience an elevated position this year. Now placed at 65 out of 115 Universities, it is ranked higher than other leading modern Universities. The national league table demonstrates improved performance in key aspects of University activity including research assessment, student/staff ratio, investment in teaching & learning facilities, rates of degree completion, good honours and graduate prospects. It has also excelled in terms of subject with over 75% of courses either increasing or maintaining their position in the overall rankings. Professor Wendy Purcell, University of Plymouth Vice-Chancellor said; “Our outstanding performance improvement is testament to our commitment to providing a first-class student experience and Plymouth’s growing international reputation for teaching and research excellence. “I am particularly encouraged to see a marked improvement in our graduate prospects rating - this is central to our success and realises our investment and focus in this area, particularly our new ‘Gateway’ employability centre which was officially launched this week. “I look forward to the University's continued success, growing in reputation and impact for the benefit of its students, the city and the region.”
