Research Infrastructures in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Open access, research data management, and other research infrastructures receive start-up funding. Collections, libraries and archives, information and communication platforms, as well as systems for open access and research data management are among the most important research infrastructures in the humanities and social sciences. How can we share already existing platforms and systems? How can we share existing knowledge on open access and open science in a meaningful way and make it accessible to all researchers? Sharing research infrastructures and using them more efficiently is one of the goals of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA). The BUA objective Sharing Resources is calling for proposals for start-up funding for projects that support the expansion of existing and/or the establishment of new research infrastructures in the humanities and social sciences and that increase the potential for joint cross-institutional research. The projects can receive funding of a maximum of 50,000 euros. The deadline for the call for proposals is January 31, 2022. Projects may include, for example, digitizing or indexing texts and collections, or using devices and technologies in an interdisciplinary way, such as imaging techniques, VR/AR technologies, simulation platforms, or artificial intelligence applications.
