Researchers venture into Dragons’ Den
PA 267/09 University of Nottingham researchers with a new product or service will be given advice on how to pitch their ideas by one of the BBC's online Dragons on Thursday October 15 2009. They could also win a £40,000 business plan to support their venture. Julie Meyer, one of the leading champions for enterprise in Europe, will be the keynote speaker at the launch of the University's Ingenuity Workshop Programme which is being held at the Sir Colin Campbell Building on Jubilee Campus between 12 noon and 2pm. Julie Meyer, who is listed in the Wall Street Journal's Top 30 Most Influential Women in Europe, has over 20 years investment and advisory experience in helping start-up businesses. The Founder and Chief Executive of the investment advisory company Ariadne Capital in London, Julie is a World Economic Forum Global Leader for Tomorrow, an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, a regular speaker on Entrepreneurship and Leadership and a columnist for CityAM. The new training programme of Ingenuity Workshops is being run by The University of Nottingham. It brings together researchers and employees from regional organisations to assist knowledge exchange between the university and local businesses and offers advice on all aspects of enterprise and entrepreneurship from creativity and innovation to risk and technology transfer.
