Scholarships set up for India’s future leaders
University 10 Aug 10 The Saïd Business School will host scholarships for India's future leaders in science, business and government, the Prime Minister announced last week. The scholarships will be for places on the new Chevening Rolls-Royce Science and Innovation Leadership Programme, which has been set up in partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Chevening Scholarship Programme and Rolls-Royce. The programme will cater for Indian career professionals working in science, innovation and related public administration. Modules will include bridging pure research and business and scientific entrepreneurship, practical processes of innovation, and commercialisation of research and technology transfer. Richard Briant, programme director at the Saïd Business School, said: 'We look forward with great pleasure to welcoming such an outstanding group of Indian professionals to Oxford and to introducing them to entrepreneurial and academic colleagues across the University, including Isis Innovation, the Department of Continuing Education, Begbroke Science Park and Saïd Business School. Together, we will provide a most stimulating and memorable programme. Lord Patten of Barnes, Chancellor of the University, said: 'We look forward with great pleasure to welcoming an outstanding group of Indian professionals to Oxford and to ensuring that they are exposed to University-wide insights and thinking during their stay.
