Schoolchildren act out Japanese folk tales

An Oxford theology student has been named one of the UK's top black students. Tyrone Steele of Pembroke College was ranked second in a list of top ten outstanding black students in the Rare Rising Star awards. Now in its sixth year, Rare Rising Stars is a celebration of the achievements of the UK's best black students. The judging panel included David Lammy MP, Trevor Phillips OBE, Jean Tomlin OBE, Tom Chigbo, and Adrian Joseph of Google. Steele grew up in Oxford, where he became a Member of Youth Parliament and Young Mayor for the City of Oxford. A Theology student interested in the Qu'ran, he took part in the One Voice Europe Youth Leadership Programme in Conflict Resolution. Steele is also involved in Pembroke College's access work, including its BSix outreach programme in Hackney.
