Research reveals signs of growth in the Church of England New research involving Durham University has found churches showing signs of growth across the country in a variety of areas of church life from newly established congregations and churches to ancient Cathedrals and parishes. Commenting on the findings the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, said there was "every reason to be hopeful about the future of the Church of England". The 18-month study into Church Growth in the Church of England was published at the Faith in Research Conference in London. The research was partly carried out by a team based at Cranmer Hall , at St John's College , Durham University.
