Symposium for 80th Birthday of Elazar Benyoëtz
The University of Siegen and Freie Universität Berlin are jointly organizing a symposium on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the writer Elazar Benyoëtz on May 16, 2017. The participants will explore Elazar Benyoëtz's literary and theoretical significance for a critical memory culture. The symposium is public, and admission is free. Advance sigh-up is requested via email to Michael.Bongardt [at] uni-siegen (p) de. The Israeli poet Elazar Benyoëtz was born in 1937 in Wiener Neustadt/Lower Austria. In 1939 he emigrated along with his family to Palestine. He currently lives in Jerusalem.
