The music festival Szenenwechsel of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts takes place in the building of the Department of Music in Kriens on the one hand and the KKL Luzern on the other. The HSLU Symphony Orchestra and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra will perform together here on Thursday, January 29. The second KKL concert with the HSLU Big Band on Saturday will once again feature an illustrious guest: the Cameroonian bassist, singer and composer Richard Bona.
the Department of Music at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts can be experienced "in a nutshell" at the compact festival Szenenwechsel. However, it is a nutshell in which there is a lot of space: "The festival offers the opportunity to experience the facets of musical work at the Lucerne School of Music in a condensed form and also to make musical discoveries, whether in the field of classical music, new music or jazz," says Department Director Valentin Gloor.
At the Department of Music, the spectrum ranges from the multimedia virtual reality installation "BBC - La Bella Bestia Co." in the library to the music & movement performance "Musik bewegt Musik n° 5" and the concert "Music for the Ei" with new music. At the KKL Luzern, the HSLU Big Band will perform with Richard Bona and the young musicians of the HSLU Symphony Orchestra will venture into works by Arvo Pärt (*1935), Jörg Widmann (*1973) and the 5th Symphony by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) together with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.
