UCL is a place where innovation meets business
This spring saw a significant changing of the guard at UCL as Professor Stephen Caddick took over from retiring Vice-Provost (Enterprise) Professor Mike Spyer. Professor Spyer became the university's first Vice-Provost (Enterprise) in 2006, having held the post of Vice-Provost (Biomedicine) for the previous four years. During a distinguished 30-year career at UCL he held a variety of senior posts, including Dean of the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. In this podcast Professor Spyer explains how he laid the foundations for enterprise at UCL and the successes and challenges of his tenure as Vice-Provost. Stephen Caddick joined UCL in 2003 as Vernon Professor of Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology. Professor Caddick is the founding director of the Centre for Chemical Biology, head of the Organic and Chemical Biology group and, most recently, Head of UCL Chemistry. He has served on a number of high-profile funding panels and is playing a key role in developing UCL's unique contribution to the UK Centre for Medical Research and Innovation.
