A project whose objective is to ensure that digitized books of bibliographic heritage are not only disseminated, but preserved for future generations. Ensuring preservation, combating technological obsolescence, the fragility of electronic files or accidents and natural disasters is something to which libraries devote a large part of their budgets. To avoid these problems, the main North American libraries decided to join the world's largest, the Library of Congress of the United States, by creating a portal where the most valuable books could be accessed and preserved for future generations.
