UCL leads the way in research

UCL has reaffirmed its position as one of the world's top research institutes in a series of recent world rankings. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021, published today, UCL is ranked 16th in the world. The Shanghai-ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities) 2021 league table also ranks UCL as 16th. The Times Higher Education rankings reaffirms UCL's Research performance (scoring 89.4 out of 100), Citations (scoring 96.2 out of 100) and International outlook (scoring 96.5 out of 100). UCL also retains its rank as 7th in the world for the second year running as indicated by Web of Science's Essential Science Indicators (ESI) citations data.
