UCLA Department of Design|Media Arts announces spring 2009 events

*****CANCELED: Krzysztof Wodiczko's April 21 lecture has been canceled. Machiko Kusahara will be delivering a lecture at the same time and location. The UCLA Department of Design|Media Arts (DMA) is offering a variety of events for the public's enjoyment this spring, including public lectures and exhibitions. Exhibitions are free and take place at the New Wight Gallery, located in the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Center at UCLA, or the EDA (Experimental Digital Arts) facility on the first floor of the Broad Art Center tower. DMA 2009 LECTURE SERIES Tuesday, April 7 6 p.m. Amy Franceschini of Futurefarmers Franceschini is an artist and educator who founded Futurefarmers in 1995 to bring together multidisciplinary practitioners to create new work. She currently teaches media theory and practice courses at Stanford University and the San Francisco Art Institute. Tuesday, April 21 6 p.m. Krzysztof Wodiczko Wodiczko is internationally renowned for his large-scale slide and video projections on architectural facades and monuments. He has also developed a series of "nomadic instruments" for marginalized members of society ?
