01 Jul 2013 Manchester University Gospel Choir has been selected as one of the eight finalists in the annual University Gospel Choir of the Year Competition (UGCY). It's the third year of this annual contest, boasting top vocalists and brilliantly talented young people from universities across the UK. Hosted by MOBO Award Winner Rachel Kerr, UGCY 2013 takes place on Saturday July 6 at 7pm, at the Hippodrome in London. The top eight university Gospel choirs will battle it out to take home the prestigious UGCY 2013 title. This years line up is as follows: University of Surrey (University of Surrey Gospel Choir), Queen Mary University (QMUL Unite Choir), Imperial College (ICGC), Royal Holloway University (Royal Holloway Gospel Choir), University of the West of England (UWE Gospel Choir), Canterbury Christchurch University (Christchurch Gospel Choir), University of Leicester (Leicester University Voices) and back to defend their title, 2012 champions The University of Manchester (Harmony Gospel Choir).
