This is based on a range of indicators that are applied to the institution as a whole as well as to specific fields. A total of 1,318 universities all over the world were compared in 2022. In terms of the share of its publications that make it into the top 1 percent of those cited most frequently, the University of Bonn is ranked second overall in Germany.
