University to open city shopfront on Lewes Road. An information centre will soon open in Brighton, establishing a permanent showcase in the city for our teaching, research and student activities. Situated near Sainsbury's on Lewes Road and opening in late autumn, the premises will provide a shopfront for the University's range of courses, its research expertise and displays of student work. University of Sussex Registrar, John Duffy said: "We have been considering a city presence for some time. Our trial pop-up shop in the spring was a great success and attracted positive feedback from everyone who visited. We have therefore decided to take a permanent presence and Lewes Road with its busy location is an ideal spot. "There's always a lot going on at the University which we're keen to share with the local community.
