University of Queensland student Brenden Hall and UQ Blue winner Blake Cochrane have added gold and silver medals to their Paralympic Games tallies. Students, graduates and members of the UQ community are currently competing at the Paralympics in swimming, shooting, goalball and wheelchair rugby. Brenden Hall - Swimming (S9 and SM9 classes) The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences student and UQ Sports Achievement Scholarship recipient claimed back-to-back Paralympic gold medals in the S9 400m Freestyle. The 2012 UQ Blue winner dominated the event, achieving in a time of 4.12.73 to defend his Paralympic title from London in 2012. The 23-year-old also won a silver medal in the S9 100m Freestyle, finishing second behind Australian teammate Tim Disken. In other events, Brenden missed the final of S9 50m Freestyle, finishing fourth in his heat.
