VC elected to Group of Eight Chair

Professor Ian Young has been elected as the next Chair of the Group of Eight (Go8). The Go8 is a coalition of eight Australian universities, including ANU, that aims to promote collaboration, expand student opportunities, and influence policymakers. Professor Young says he is looking forward to taking up the post in January. "The Go8 plays an incredibly important role in influencing national polices for high education and research," he said. "And this role plays a key part in that." "I am also delighted that I will play a bigger part in strengthening collaboration between Australia's leading research universities."
