Vice-Chancellor's Enterprise Awards

The University of Plymouth has launched its first ever Vice-Chancellor's Enterprise Awards celebrating enterprise excellence in the University, Plymouth and the region. The awards will be a regular event in the University's calendar with the aim of recognising and celebrating the contributions that are being made as part of Plymouth's enterprise mission. The awards are now open for nominations and have categories for University students, staff and alumni, partner organisations, businesses, community and social enterprises. They include those embarked upon or delivering university programmes at partner institutions. Sixteen awards will be presented later this year including: the Enterprising Research Award, the Outstanding New Business Award for Plymouth, Social Enterprise of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Employer of the Year and the University of Plymouth Outstanding Contribution of the Year Award. As a beacon of enterprise and creativity, the University of Plymouth's mission is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in all of its research, teaching and learning activities as well as in its links with businesses, individuals and communities. Vice-Chancellor Professor Wendy Purcell said: "There are fantastic examples of enterprise and innovation in the University amongst our staff and students, as well as in our city and the wider region, which stands us apart from the rest of the UK.
