Applications are being sought for the 2012 round of the International Program Development Fund (IPDF), the University's primary source of funding for international initiatives. The IPDF supports initiatives in internationalisation by University of Sydney academics, providing funding for research, teaching and learning and capacity building with high profile partners in priority areas. Funding is available for postdoctoral fellows, researchers and academic staff. "It is a terrific opportunity for academics that also, importantly, helps strengthen links between the University of Sydney and our global partners," said Professor John Hearn, Deputy Vice-Chancellor International. The fund is managed by the International portfolio, and the application process has been simplified and made available online this year. Amanda Sayan, Program Coordinator, said: "The IPDF grant is unique because there are no restrictions on the project area. The premise behind it is to encourage as broad a range of collaborative projects as possible, especially multilateral projects that link with more than one institution and applications that incorporate a research mobility component for early career researchers and postdoctoral fellows.
