World-leading ecological economist joins ANU

One of the world's leading ecological economists, Professor Robert Costanza, has been appointed to a Chair in Public Policy at The Australian National University's Crawford School of Public Policy. Costanza is the author or co-author of more than 500 scientific papers, and more than 20 books. His work has been published in Science and Nature , and has been cited more than 30,000 times. He repeatedly appears on lists of the world's most influential researchers, including the ISI Highly Cited list. His research integrates the study of humans and the rest of nature to address sustainability and well-being. In addition to his academic research, he was the co-founder of the International Society for Ecological Economics and founding editor of its journal, Ecological Economics. He serves on the editorial board of 16 other academic journals.
