Register Vacancy ID: 12316 Location: Leicester School/Division: Leicester Medical School Vacancy terms: Full time, permanent Salary details: Grade 8 - £46,409 to £56,535 per annum Hours per week: 37.5 Advert closes midnight on: 25 Mar 2026 About the roleYou will work within Leicester Medical School (LMS) to develop, implement, deliver and evaluate elements of teaching and assessment for the MBChB programme. Specifically, you will be part of the Phase One team, which oversees education for the first two years of the five year programme. You will be the lead for our Body Logistics Unit and the lead for the Integrated Understanding Assessment (IUA). The Body Logistics unit currently takes place in semester one of year one, and aims to give students an overview of the structure and function of the different tissues that make up the body; it provides a useful foundation for students to build upon in subsequent units of study that focus on specific organ systems. The IUA is one of three summative assessments undertaken by students at the end of year one. It takes place within the dissection room, and aims to test students’ knowledge of integrated anatomy.As a key member of our Phase 1 team, you will contribute to the pastoral support of our students through the role of personal tutor, and will also contribute to other aspects of the student journey, for example through acting as an admissions assessor in multiple mini interviews. You will draw on your academic excellence to underpin and carry out teaching (80%), scholarship (10%), and enterprise, engagement, leadership & citizenship (10%) in the field of Medical Education within Leicester Medical School. This will be aligned with the University’s strategic themes of ’Research Inspired Education’ and ’Our Citizens,’ together with the University values.
