About the role

We are pleased to offer a new Early Career Fellowship within our School of Psychology and Vision Sciences. This position is aimed at candidates who hold a PhD and are seeking to develop their academic careers.

We welcome applications to either of two pathways:

Research & Teaching pathway: We are seeking exceptional candidates whose research expertise aligns with our Health and Wellbeing (with Ageing) and/or Vision Sciences research groups. We are particularly interested in applicants whose work can connect with researchers across the College of Life Sciences, including the NIHR-funded Biomedical Research Centre, and with ophthalmic science.

Teaching-focused pathway: We are looking for outstanding individuals who are passionate about enhancing the student experience, with a track record of pedagogic research and/or developing innovative learning and teaching materials.

Across both pathways, successful candidates will contribute high-quality teaching in psychology across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Teaching may be delivered through a range of formats, including on-campus, distance learning, and blended learning, and candidates should be committed to supporting our diverse student body. There will also be opportunities to contribute to transnational education, including our joint programme with Chongqing Medical University.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to either the Deputy Head of School (Education), Dr Tessa Webb ( [email protected] ), or Head of School, Professor Kevin Paterson ( [email protected] ).
