AS THIS IS A PERMANENT ROLE, STUDENTS ARE UNFORTUNATELY NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. Permanent, Part-Time Variable Hours - Saturday (6 hours), Sunday (6 hours) every other week. Applications are invited for the post of Extended Hours Duty Supervisor in the Customer Services Team of the Library. Working as part of the Extended Hours Team, successful applicants will directly support the delivery of the Library frontline service outside of core hours and will have supervisory responsibilities for a small team. We are looking for applicants who are highly motivated, self-starters, and team-orientated individuals. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective customer-focused library service by assisting our diverse community of Library users with account enquiries both in person and digitally, using our enquiry management system and live chat. You will have responsibility for ensuring that stock management activities are performed in a timely and proactive manner. Candidates do not need to have previous supervisory or line management experience, however strong delegation and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to perform in a professional and efficient manner, taking responsibility in a range of situations. You will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve shared goals. You should have previously worked in a customer service environment, have good IT skills, and the ability to communicate with a variety of library users including via social media. This role is campus based, and the successful candidate will work 2 shifts of 6 hours every other week, on Saturday and Sunday.
