About the role

As Residence Life Duty Manager, you will take on a highly rewarding position at the heart of our vibrant Residential Life team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills whilst making a genuine difference to the student community. You will enjoy the satisfaction of shaping memorable student experiences, whether it’s through coordinating engaging events, supporting personal development, or contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment at both The City and The Village. Working collaboratively with dedicated colleagues across various departments, you will help to enhance the reputation and commercial success of Estates & Campus Services. You’ll benefit from a dynamic, supportive workplace, opportunities for personal and professional growth, and the chance to see your efforts directly improve the day-to-day lives of our students. In addition, you’ll gain valuable experience in budget management, health and safety compliance, and team supervision--skills that are highly transferable and prized across the sector. About you

The ideal candidate will bring a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for working as part of a collaborative team. You will relish the opportunity to use your initiative and problem-solving skills, approaching new challenges with confidence and creativity. Your background will include experience in a supervisory or management role. You will be adept at delivering community engagement p rogrammes , providing support and guidance to both individuals and groups, and making effective use of digital communication channels. Strong o rganisational , communication, and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to manage your own workload and juggle multiple projects with professionalism and attention to detail. Experience in a customer-focused environment and within higher education is highly desirable, along with knowledge of safeguarding, and first aid or mental health qualifications. A bove all, you’ll be passionate about fostering inclusivity, acting with integrity, and inspiring others to reach their full potential as part of our supportive and forward-thinking team.
