Part-Time Academic (DEHY 2832 - Fundamentals of clinical Dental Hygiene II) - Summer 2026Position DetailsPosition Information Position Title Part-Time Academic (DEHY 2832 - Fundamentals of clinical Dental Hygiene II) - Summer 2026 Posting Number PTAP3187P Department/Unit Dental Hygiene Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities Casual teaching position in pre-clinic and clinic settings in the undergraduate Dental Hygiene programs as assigned by the Director.For year 1 students, this course provides an introduction to the knowledge, concepts, and skills necessary to understand and practice clinical dental hygiene utilizing the process of dental hygiene care. This process of care involves five phases: assessment, dental hygiene diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This competency-based course sets the expectation that the student will master specified didactic material from its companion course ( DEHY 2812 Fundamentals of Clinical Dental Hygiene Theory) as well as pre-clinical and clinical competencies. This appointment will run May 4 - June 26, 2026. Qualifications/Requirements of Position Must possess a current practicing license as a registered dental hygienist in Nova Scotia with authorization to administer local anaesthetic. Must possess current CPR ( BLS ) certification. Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Must possess a Bachelor degree. Must have completed coursework or certificate in teaching methodology. New applicants are required to submit the following documentation under the "Portfolio" tab: 1) copy of current NSRDHDTD license; 2) proof of current CPR ( BLS ) certification within the last year; 3) copy of authorization to administer local anesthesia; 4) proof of bachelor degree; 5) evidence of coursework or certificate in teaching methodology. Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement Additional Information Hiring will be in accordance with the CUPE collective agreement and those with precedence will be given priority.
