Position Information Position Title Part-Time Academic (COMM/MGMT 3511 Management Information Systems) - Summer 2026 Posting Number PTAP3204P Department/Unit Management Science & Info Systems Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities We are seeking a Part-Time Academic to teach the following course in the summer term from May to August 2026.

COMM / MGMT 3511 Management Information Systems, T 1435-1555, Dalhousie Studley Campus The course consists of a single weekly large lecture (up to 390 students) and nine additional sections of labs (max 40-50 students each). The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for the organization of the course, preparation and delivery of appropriate teaching and evaluation materials, student assessment, assurance of learning, and lab administration. These labs may be supported or held by teaching assistants, to be arranged with or approved by the director of the program or the Faculty Student Resource Centre. The Part-Time Academic shall also hold two additional hours of office hours per week for direct consultation by students, for which office space will be provided.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position This is a position with a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, excellent communication and dedication to student success. A Master’s degree in Management, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field is essential. Candidates must have demonstrated good knowledge of the subject matter, and completion of a PhD, a PhD in progress and prior teaching or related work experience in practice are considered to be strong assets, as will be good prior familiarity with information systems and digital technologies like SAP Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP ). Preference will further be given to candidates with experience or interests in creating innovative pedagogical materials that can also incorporate principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility ( EDIA ).

Salary Range/Pay Rate $8,260 per course (In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement) Additional Information All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
