Career Opportunities (sapsf.com) General Purpose Reporting to the Administrative Assistant in the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, the incumbent is responsible for providing departmental, operational, and academic support as well as performing a range of other duties for the administrative office. The Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies (MCS) is an academic unit in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. Responsible for the Marketing Management (MKMN) and Real (RE) undergraduate programs as well as an MSc in Marketing, MRE in Real Estate and a PhD in Management, MCS currently has 26 faculty members, approximately 1,200 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students. Duties and Responsibilities This position supports all undergraduate academic matters handled by the department. The role serves as a point of contact for faculty on academic and course-related matters and provides general office and administrative support, including assistance with departmental committees, preparation of meeting materials and minutes, and coordination of departmental undergraduate awards and undergraduate academic events including co-ordinating arrangements of undergraduate events. The position will also support the department as a lab assistant for faculty and graduate students through the SONA system used in the department. The role will also take the lead on departmental communication through websites, social media and the Yodeck screen. The position is also an active member of the campus communicators network. In addition, the Academic, Project, and Lab Assistant will answer inquiries from faculty, students, visitors, staff from other university departments and provides backup to the other staff roles in MCS.
