Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Lead Coordinator, Orientation, Transition and Engagement and working collaboratively with student leaders and professional staff throughout the division and University, the Student Life Coordinator, Campus Involvement will assume responsibility for ongoing planning, development, and management of experiential learning strategies that engage students in co-curricular involvement at the University of Toronto. The Student Life Coordinator is responsible for modification and implementation of year-round Student Life programs to facilitate experiential University-recognized co-curricular activities with assigned learning outcomes and competencies and demonstrates an understanding of the University’s commitment to equity and diversity.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Planning and implementing componentsof curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
  • Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
  • Promoting experiential learning opportunities
  • Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
  • Advising students on co-curricular, academic and personal matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual’s background
  • Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students


 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum four years experience in program development and delivery through a combination of student affairs, campus or community organizations, government or related sector.
  • Formal training and/or education in at least one of the following areas: higher education, student affairs, event management, volunteer management, group facilitation, risk management.
  • Experience designing and facilitating workshops in small, medium, and large groups.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, conflict mediation, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Database management and volunteer coordination experience.
  • Working knowledge of student development and other related theories.
  • Familiar with experiential learning strategies including but not limited to experiential program design, reflection and assessment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and training skills.

USW Pay Band 12 -- $81,312. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $103,986. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
