Register Vacancy ID: 13171 Location: Hybrid Working School/Division: Human Resources Vacancy terms: Full-time or job share, permanent Salary details: Grade 7 - £39,906 to £46,049 per annum, pro-rata if part-time Hours per week: 37.5 Advert closes midnight on: 12 Apr 2026 About the roleAs a Senior Systems and Information Officer, you will play a crucial role in strengthening the quality, reliability and strategic value of staff data across the University of Leicester. Working within Human Resources, you will take the lead in monitoring, analysing and improving data processes to ensure our information is accurate, robust and ready for statutory, sector and internal reporting. You will draw on your expertise to generate meaningful insights, produce management information to meet varied customer needs, and maintain comprehensive reporting tools and dashboards that support effective decision-making across the institution.You will also act as an expert SAP HR ’super user’, supporting colleagues with complex enquiries and facilitating improvements in systems, workflows and data entry practice. This includes developing and delivering training, updating HR intranet content, contributing to responses for Freedom of Information and Data Subject requests, and working closely with colleagues in areas such as Payroll, Digital Services and Information Assurance. The role offers autonomy, scope for technical innovation and the opportunity to positively influence business processes in this area. About youYou will bring significant experience in data management, business intelligence, HR or similar operational environments, with a proven ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets. Your strong analytical skills and advanced use of digital tools, particularly large spreadsheets and Office 365, will enable you to interpret information effectively and produce high-quality insights that support organisational priorities. You will understand the importance of accuracy, governance and compliance, and be comfortable applying these principles in your day-to-day work.You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines. Your communication skills will allow you to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, offering clear guidance, resolving issues independently and supporting colleagues to improve their own data practices. A proactive, solutions-focused approach will help you identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to an efficient, customer-centred HR service. Experience with SAP HR or sector-specific reporting would be beneficial, though not essential.
