Release Date: Wednesday 25 March 2026 An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our amazing technical team in the newly formed Technical Services team within School Operations. We are seeking for a Technical Team Leader to lead our Clinical (Vision Sciences) team which support our teaching and research facilities at Aston University.

You will lead the Clinical (Vision Sciences) technical team which provide support to the Optometry and Audiology subject groups. The successful candidate will be required to provide day to day technical leadership of our teaching and research facilities and will undertake duties and have key attributes such as below:

  • Leading a technical team working in Optometry and Audiology Facilities
  • Support and develop the technical team
  • Liaise with stakeholders, understanding technical support needs
  • Providing Health and Safety advice and ensuring facilities are compliant


The successful candidate will need to hold a degree in a science based subject or equivalent, experience of working in a clinical setting within an optometry or audiology environment is beneficial.

We will be hosting an open session to meet the technical staff and ask questions about the role.
