25 Ghent University researchers are ’Highly Cited Researcher 2020’

This year, Ghent University has no less than 25 researchers with Highly Cited status. This is another fine recognition of the quality of its publications and their scientific impact. Clarivate Web of Science has been compiling this exclusive list every year since 2001, based on the highest number of top publications. In order to be recognized as a 'highly cited researcher', a scientist must have a major impact on the work of fellow scientists. Cross field. For this year, the following Ghent University researchers are Highly Cited Researchers in this category: Yvan Saeys and Peter Vandenabeele* (Faculty of Science), Tom Coenye (Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences), Guy Smagghe, Thomas Van Leeuwen and Willy Verstraete (Faculty of Bioscience Engineering).
