(Photo: Swiss TPH) - The COVCO-Basel study is assessing the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in the population of the cantons Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft. A bus now brings the study team closer to the participants and allows antibody testing on site in their villages. The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is in the lead of the COVCO-Basel study that is part of the Swiss research programme Corona Immunitas. Over 600 people have been tested for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 at Swiss TPH. In a bus equipped as a mobile test centre, the COVCO-Basel team can now also carry out blood and saliva samples from study participants on site. "The bus allows us to reach people that are less mobile or that in the current situation, facing increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases, do not want to travel to our study centre in Basel.
