In August 2017, the Swiss Society of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (SSTMP) celebrates its 75th anniversary. On this occasion, the society published a book on its history which is closely intertwined with the history of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). Chronicle of Tropical Medicine in Switzerland On 31st August 2017, the Swiss Society of Tropical Medicine (SSTMP) held its 75th annual meeting in Basel. The society was founded on 5th December 1943, in Berne. Only four days later, the Swiss Tropical Institute - today Swiss TPH - was established in Basel. The history of these two organisations has remained closely linked since. A now sheds light on the past 75 years: from colonial medicine to today's global health network.
