A week of apple events at the University of Cambridge
From the Granny Smith and Cox to the Dumelow's Seedling, the University of Cambridge is set to celebrate apples of all varieties. The public are invited to attend a week of activities for all ages, organised as an extension of National Apple Day. Events at Cambridge University run from Saturday 23 October and include a family tour at the Fitzwilliam Museum, with the chance to make a spooky apple head for Hallowe'en. The 21st annual Apple Day, on Friday 21 October, honours the British apple and all things related, from orchards to apple pie. Pioneered by the charity Common Ground, Apple Day events take place across the country and aim to raise awareness of local culture and variety. Six events are taking place across the city. Families are invited for tours of apples around the Fitzwilliam Museum from 23-30 October.
