ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young has congratulated the 209 researchers announced today as Future Fellows, particularly the 16 recipients from The Australian National University. This year, 16 ANU researchers have won Future Fellowships, with funding of $11.4 million. "I congratulate all of the Future Fellows announced today" said Professor Young. "The Future Fellowships scheme recognises the importance of retaining our brightest mid-career academics to work on the big issues confronting the nation, across all areas of academic endeavour. "ANU Future Fellows are involved in research ranging from animal adaptation to climate change and the prospects of extinction, to brain changes in middle age and ethnic politics in Indonesia. "I congratulate all of the recipients from ANU and look forward to seeing the results of their research in the years to come. "The Future Fellowships program is administered by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and aims to promote the best research in areas of national importance by giving grants to the country's best and brightest mid-career researchers.
