Cheltenham Literature Festival preview
A special preview event in conjunction with The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival will take place at King's featuring prize winning writer Rose Tremain on 5 October. In a discussion with Clare Lees, Professor of English at King's, Tremain, one of our most versatile contemporary writers, will discuss her latest novel, Trespass . Rose Tremain's most recent book, The Road Home , won the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction in 2008. Her novels have been published in 27 countries and have won many prizes, including the Whitbread Novel of the Year Award and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize; Restoration was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and was made into a film (1995) and a stage play (2009). The Colour and Music & Silence , are currently in development as films, and the bestselling The Road Home is being adapted for television. King's has partnered each of the four Cheltenham Festivals this year and this event is one in a series of collaborations between the two organisations. Rose Tremain will also be appearing at the Literature Festival on 16 October.
