Durham leads the way for talented early-career researchers Rising Stars of research at Durham University have won six prestigious Leverhulme awards - twice as many as any other university - in recognition of the international impact of their work and exceptional promise for the future. The Philip Leverhulme Prizes are presented to up to 30 early career researchers each year who are each awarded £70,000 to be spent on research. Durham's talented researchers led the way in the awards, which are hotly contested by the UK's top universities. None except Durham claimed more than three of the 29 prizes awarded this year.
