Elisabeth Zemp Stutz awarded with the 2016 KHM Forschungspreis Hausarztmedizin

Elisabeth Zemp Stutz, head of the 'Society, Gender and Health? unit at Swiss TPH is one of the awardees of the 'KHM Forschungspreis Hausarztmedizin' of the Kollegium für Hausarztmedizin. In the prize-winning article the authors showed that many general practitioners in Switzerland rate psychological aspects in end-of-life care as high as medical aspects. However, most of them think that they lack much-needed psychological competences. The value of the prize is CHF 30'000. The award ceremony will be held today in the Culture and Congress Centre (KKL) in Luzern. End-of-Life Care poses a huge challenge to general practitioners in Switzerland. A part from medical knowledge, psychological skills are necessary.
