Excellence recognised in University Health Centre team

The University of Nottingham Health Service has been shortlisted for a prestigious Recognising Excellence in Healthcare award. The awards, run by the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Group of magazines, recognises individuals, organisations and initiatives that have demonstrated outstanding and measurable contributions to health care. The NHS Nottingham City team, who are based at the Cripps Health Centre on University Park, have been shortlisted in the Primary Care Team of the Year category. This focuses on the services the team offer to staff and students and the work they have done in partnership with the University — in particular with the University Sexual Health Worker. opening a level two genito-urinary service on campus — giving students access to sexual health advice and treatment of the same standard available in local hospitals "We have 33,500 registered patients here at the Cripps Health Centre," said Daniel Hammersley, Business Manager at the centre. "That's 11 per cent of the population of the City of Nottingham. Our staff work incredibly hard to meet the needs of a diverse range of patients, and we're very proud of the work they do with the University.
