New Executive Dean Tim Dunne
A globally renowned foreign policy, human rights and international relations scholar this week begins his new role as Executive Dean of UQ's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS). Professor Tim Dunne has more than 20 years experience as a researcher, educator and academic leader. Professor Dunne joined UQ in 2010 from The University of Exeter, where he had worked successively as Professor of International Relations, Head of Politics, Head of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Dean of the College of Social Sciences. Before being appointed to his new role he was Professor of International Relations and Research Director at UQ's Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect (R2P Centre). Professor Dunne said the R2P centre had been an outstanding research environment to work in. "Not only does it produce high quality research outputs, but there is a commitment to high impact research," he said. "I am very fortunate to be part of research teams at UQ and internationally, such that I will be able to maintain my profile as a political scientist," Professor Dunne said.
