TUM in Rankings - The "German Startup Monitor 2017" has made it official: The Technical University of Munich (TUM) produces more start-up founders than any other German university. The University of Duisburg-Essen analyzed over 1,800 companies with approximately 4,200 founders on behalf of the German Startups Association (Bundesverband Deutsche Startups) for the "German Startup Monitor". The companies are all less than ten years old. The analysis asked whether or not the founders were university graduates, and if so, which university they graduated from. The leader in the ranking is TUM, with approximately 50 founders among those surveyed. TUM is followed by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and RWTH Aachen University. Around 70 companies are founded at TUM every year.
